this year’s Left Forum!
Friday, June 2 at 5:00 pm – Kickoff panel
Technology is at the center of political struggle today. Used by our movements and by the ruling class, it has brought us to unprecedented stages of development. It could be used to create a highly repressive and controlled society – as our government envisions it – or it could be used to literally create the society movement people imagine. How do we make sure it’s used to create a future rather than destroy one? Our panelists and audience will talk about it. The panelists:
Alice Aguilar (Progressive Technology Project), Jerome Scott (League of Revolutionaries for a New America), Chinyere Tutashinda (Center for Media Justice), Maritza Arrastía (May First/People Link), Samir Hazboun (Highlander Center),
and then…the convergence
Capitalist culture tries to prevent us from envisioning a future. In this two session convergence, we seek to discuss what one will look like. Informal, probing and free…no expectations and no limitations. One of the many convergences taking place world-wide this year, bringing people together to talk about the intersection of revolutionary strategy and technology. An experience you don’t want to miss!
